    Chicagoland ARA Show

Electric Guard Dog recently attended the Chicagoland ARA show in Glen Ellyn, IL, serving the equipment rental industry. Held in January, the annual winter tabletop show expected a crowd of 120 American Rental Association (ARA) members.

The Illinois rental industry is a $1.2-billion industry, and the need for awareness and collaboration are vital to protecting it. This point was made clear during the education session, which presented the firsthand account of a local rental store theft case from the officials who were directly involved: Detective Brian Gvist and Assistant State’s Attorney Jim Lynch (pictured below).

Diligence and communication paid off for this case involving a local theft ring hitting rental stores across IN, IL and WI, using fake IDs to rent (steal) equipment. When store owner and Chicagoland Chapter President Luke Graham recognized one of the culprits, he contacted local police, (fast forward) an arrest was made, and the theft ring has stopped in the area.

Brian Gvist and Luke Graham will be awarded at The Rental Show® 2016, in Atlanta, for their efforts on the case.

Electric Guard Dog is fairly new to the Chicagoland Chapter. However, the #1 Theft Deterrent ServiceTM is a long-time supporter of ARA and a security partner for 3,000+ commercial and industrial locations across the nation.

Look who we caught up with at the show: our friends, Bob Nagele and Rob Dreyer, at Rental Max (pictured below).
