On Track for Success: PARTS Auto Recycling Show

The Pennsylvania Automotive Recycling Trade Society (PARTS) Train for Success Seminar and Trade Show turned out an impressive lineup of events geared toward auto recyclers and vendors. Hosted by Dorman Products, the show kicked off with tours of their impressive warehouse followed by a trade show, seven training sessions, lunch and dinner gatherings, and go-kart racing.

    PARTS Automotive Recycling Logo

PARTS represents the interests of quality professional automotive recyclers across Pennsylvania, providing services and programs designed to help automotive recyclers succeed in the marketplace. Dorman is the leading supplier of original equipment dealer “exclusive” automotive replacement parts. This vital organization and industry leader teamed up to gather major players and provide top-notch training to help auto recyclers avoid obstacles faced in the industry, and engage in new technologies and new ways of thinking to move their business forward.

Electric Guard Dog's Greg Kim with Roger Novak
Our own Greg Kim with iPad winner Roger Novak

If you are wondering how the new OSHA Hazard Communication requirements impact your auto salvage facility; what you can do to prevent chargebacks and avoid scams (the PARTS credit card program can help); or how social media, customer service and extended warranties will increase your bottom line there were educational seminars for that and more. The general message was: it’s not as difficult as you may think; focus on moving forward and don't limit yourself to doing things “the way we used to.”

Innovation was definitely a theme of the show, which ended in an auction and our own Greg Kim announcing the winner of our iPad, the last item in the auction. Congratulations to Roger Novak of Novak Auto Parts! Electric Guard Dog’s electric security fence can be armed and disarmed from an iPad, smartphone or computer.

The event was action packed, with opportunities to reunite with customers and connect with new faces at every turn. We heard from a number of auto recyclers who shared their stories of theft at their yards and were eager to learn more about Electric Guard Dog, the #1 Theft Deterrent ServiceTM.

We look forward to joining the PARTS team again at the next show.
