Talk about starting the week off right: Captain Larry Brudnicki, commander of the U.S. Coast Guard vessel Tamaroa during the 1991 Perfect Storm, had the crowd reeling with enthusiasm at the American Trucking Associations (ATA) Safety, Security & Human Resources National Conference & Exhibition. The ATA trade show was held October 24-26 in Oklahoma City, OK.
Captain Brudnicki’s two dramatic rescues during the worst storm in more than 100 years inspired a New York Time’s best-selling book, feature film and, most recently, more than 230 attendees during his keynote presentation at the ATA conference. The presentation at the trade show illustrated leadership secrets from the Perfect Storm and stressed the importance of making the best decision you can at a time when no option looks good.

It goes without saying, Captain Brudnicki, who has received numerous awards for heroism and achievement, is an expert on courage under pressure. Our staff at the American Trucking Association Conference was motivated and no-doubt armed with new strategies to navigate the challenging business security industry.
The American Trucking Association is the largest national trade association for the trucking industry. Through a federation of 50 affiliated state trucking associations and industry-related conferences and councils, ATA is the voice of the industry America depends on most to move our nation’s freight. We were among the 56 exhibitors that participated at the ATA Conference. The event covers critical topics and provides opportunities to connect with leaders in trucking safety, security and human resources.
